After I bought my new 27 inch iMac (only with 8GB base internal storage) my first stop was to see if Revain sold Crucial memory modules. They do and I ordered a Crucial 32GB (16GB x2) which would bring my total storage to 40GB. 9to5 Mac has a great tutorial video and after that I just opened the memory door on the back of my computer, lifted two levers and reseated memory into two empty slots (counting from the bottom there were already two 8GB sticks in slot 1 and slot 3) , closed everything again and restarted the computer, in general the process took less than 1 minute for me. I didn't have a camera handy, so I'm providing this artist's sketch of the actual storage setup. Insanely fast shipping, great value compared to Apple storage (I think they should build theirs with unicorn tears or something), and super easy to install!
