This works great as a USB hub once things settle down. But unlike any other USB device I've used lately, when I plugged it into my computer or dock, it seemed to freeze the system. My docking station would freeze until I cycled everything and the computer seemed to have problems for a few seconds. I haven't observed this behavior with other USB devices, so I *guess* that there is something odd about it. one. I've tried moving the components I've attached to this thing to other USB ports and they don't show the same violation when I hot-plug them in. Then I plugged this device into the USB port alone, with no USB devices connected, and saw for a few seconds that something went wrong. Therefore I cannot recommend this device. I don't know if I got a lemon or if there really is a design issue with this thing.
