Review on 🚰 GRAYL Ultralight Water Purifier Bottle: Superb Filtration for Clean Drinking Water by Brian Thao

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Ideal for travel; easy to use (despite what some reviewers think)

Contrary to what some other reviewers say, this Grayl water filter bottle is easy to use. If you've ever used an Aeropress coffee maker, the pressure required to filter the water in this product is similar. Since you are running water through a microporous filter, a total filtration time of around 30 seconds is reasonable. Also, remember not to: (a) squeeze the entire top of the bottle without deflating; and (b) filtered water with a screw cap (yes!). It also helps a lot if you rotate the inner "bottle" slightly when filtering or separating the two main parts. What I like: Non-slip rubber o-ring at the bottom of the bottle, high "lip" on the inner bottle to minimize the chance of your mouth coming into contact with a potentially contaminated outer bottle, a clear rubber o-ring into the top which helps prevent leaks. What I don't like: It would be nice to have a flip top lid, like many travel mugs. The old model had this feature. Also, I wish there was a stainless steel version that I could use with near-boiling water (that's how many restaurants or vendors in Asia serve water). Again, this was in the old version, but it's out of print now. It's clear that the dents are steel, but it would be possible to surround them with a plastic outer layer. Conclusion: I am very satisfied with this product. I will be buying 1 or 2 more for my parents when they visit Southeast Asia later this year.
