Check the TDS value. that says it all! Useless

This product did not filter my water. My tap water was 126 TDS and one pass with Grayl and the TDS was 122. I have a zero rated water filter and it removes everything from my water and the TDS is 0. I purchased this item for our family who like wanders. However, this does not guarantee that they have clean drinking water. It wasn't a very good product so I'm looking for a new travel filter again. I only wish Zero Water had a travel size bottle.

Worked great with fresh water in Nepal

Got this for my trip to Nepal because the water is undrinkable there and I don't trust bottled water there. I have to say I was very impressed with the build quality. Nothing about it looks cheap. Me and my girlfriend stayed there for over 15 days and every drop of water we drank was from this bottle. I basically filled it with hotel tap water and neither of us got sick. Even the water tastes good! Worked great. And the best thing is, next time I need it, I just buy another filter. Not sure…

Clear water, good conscience

I wanted to go to Cuba and thought about buying a water conditioner instead of plastic bottles. I read a number of reviews and it seemed to me that GRAYL was the best choice even though it seemed expensive. Then a friend told me that she took it to Africa and drank it from the river without getting sick! I bought it immediately. Another friend commented that GRAYL would cost more than bottled water for the entire trip which made sense but I have no regrets. I just enjoy not leaving behind a…

Do not buy, unreliable product! And dear

I am currently in Asia going to Phil province where drinking water is concerned, last time I came here and drank their water I was sick for 3 weeks. And that's why I bought this product. But today, on the day that I'm leaving on a trip that I'm only using for one day, since I've just arrived here, this happened, the filter broke and the end part got stuck in the bottle, what's the point i do now this is really funny, this product is unreliable and so expensive i trusted the quality. Call me…

When you're on the go, you need this!

I actually have two Grayls - stainless steel and the one pictured - made from lighter weight BPA-free plastic. I've used both on my travels and drank water from different places with no problems. In Nepal I was able to stop at every tap and fill my bottle with water on the Annapurna Vista Trail. Not only was the water fantastic, the locals were also very interested and impressed. These grills have traveled to Thailand, Spain, Costa Rica and Iceland, as well as Nepal. I would like to have one…

Excellent filter system for hiking

Update: I have to update this review as I was very disappointed the second time I used this product. The first hike went well and filtered the water in a few days. Lowering the filter was a bit difficult, but bearable. I cleaned up as instructed and hid until my second trip, which was a 35-mile hike into the mountains of South Dakota. This filter was extremely difficult to push down and filter the water. It literally took me five minutes of my entire weight to filter the water. I don't know if…

Ideal for travel; easy to use (despite what some reviewers think)

Contrary to what some other reviewers say, this Grayl water filter bottle is easy to use. If you've ever used an Aeropress coffee maker, the pressure required to filter the water in this product is similar. Since you are running water through a microporous filter, a total filtration time of around 30 seconds is reasonable. Also, remember not to: (a) squeeze the entire top of the bottle without deflating; and (b) filtered water with a screw cap (yes!). It also helps a lot if you rotate the inner

First of all, the “City Trips” filter.

So we are a family of 6 (2 adults, 4 children) and used it as our main water filter during our vacation in Panama. Being in the city, we didn't care too much about the safety of the water, but with children, the "taste" of the water can be a deciding factor. I have to say that all of our kids drank a lot of water everyday with this filter as none complained about the "funny taste of water" left after filtering. Apart from that, it is a two-stage filter. While the description says you can filter
