Review on 🚰 GRAYL Ultralight Water Purifier Bottle: Superb Filtration for Clean Drinking Water by Frank Rivera

So we are a family of 6 (2 adults, 4 children) and used it as our main water filter during our vacation in Panama. Being in the city, we didn't care too much about the safety of the water, but with children, the "taste" of the water can be a deciding factor. I have to say that all of our kids drank a lot of water everyday with this filter as none complained about the "funny taste of water" left after filtering. Apart from that, it is a two-stage filter. While the description says you can filter a bottle in about 15 seconds, in reality it takes longer (36 for me and 24 for my husband, yes we timed the others). To get around this, we filtered and refilled their water bottles in the evenings and kept large spare bottles of filtered water in our hotel room for refills. I would say this is a great filter, a bit pricey both for the initial purchase and for replacement filters. There is no way to backwash this filter like Sawyer does, so replacing the cartridge is the only way out. So I'm giving 4 stars for that and for the extra time it takes to filter the water. I'd say if you're going to town and just want some peace of mind with water, or if you're traveling across the states and are picky about the taste of water, then this is a great two-stage filter to suit your needs . If your travels take you to more remote areas, this filter may not be for you. I would suggest using a Sawyer filter for the first stage and adding a Katadyn in-line carbon cartridge to improve the taste of the water. Much luck!
