I had a horrific upper ankle sprain and got this brace to keep me stable while my ankle healed. The memory foam is very comfortable and the height of the plastic stays is great. One star less because the brace is completely straight, which doesn't usually fit the shape of a person's calf and ankle, so I have to manipulate and move it a few times to get it right every time I put it on in the morning .
