Power cords are in good condition, but after some time of use and mishandling, they fail. Most box stores don't last more than 2-3 months. Well this product can compete with them for the money so far it is very durable and nicely designed. Aside from the colorful light pattern, the speed of light indicator is fairly accurate for the amount of charge energy flowing through it. (tested with USB meter) I bought a second one for my wife and she loves it too (pretty pink). Update after 3 months. The original cable (blue) that I bought lost its charging ability. The two devices I charge with this cable are my phone and tablet. Both take much longer to fully charge and the tablet will never fully charge after 10 hours of charging when running a low power app. They look really cool, but they're not as useful as I was hoping, but still durable.
