Great alternative to the GorillaPod

While looking for a lighter, more comfortable companion for my JOBY GorillaPod I came across the Fotopro UFO2 Plus and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The UFO2 Plus is lighter and smaller (but not shorter) than the GorillaPod 3K, which is a godsend as weight and space are paramount when traveling. Both GorillaPod and UFO2 are really good tripods and both have their strengths and weaknesses. I love the fact that the UFO2 has thin legs that I can easily pick up and carry around like a selfie stick. I also like that the legs are really easy to rotate into any position you want as it's infinitely easy to wrap the tripod securely around posts and railings. Much more flexible than GorillaPod. The camera mount head rotates 360 degrees and locks into place with a convenient quick-release lever (as opposed to a knob), which I really like. The camera is screwed onto a tripod. It would be nice if the tripod came with a quick release plate to make it easier to mount and dismount the camera. There is a spirit level on the mounting head which I would like to enlarge as it is a little hard to see. The UFO2 Plus is rated for cameras up to 1.2kg (or about 2.6 pounds), which is enough for my phone and the Nikon D5600. The tripod comes with a Bluetooth remote control and a phone adapter that works well with my Apple iPhone XS Max. It also comes with a small carrying case which is a nice touch. Benefits * Slim and lightweight yet feels premium * Extremely flexible legs that can securely wrap almost anything * Quick release latch on swivel head * Additional features like Bluetooth remote control, cell phone adapter and carrying case * Perfect for cell phones and compact DSLRs * Half as expensive as GorillaPod (28$ paid for UFO2 Plus in 1/2019) Cons * Very small bubble level difficult to see * No quick release plate on mounting head Would I replace my JOBY GorillaPod on Fotopro UFO2 Plus? Both have their uses, but I wear the UFO2 Plus more often since it's lighter and thinner. Ideal for mobile phones and compact digital SLR cameras. Overall I give 4.5 stars.
