As we increase the difficulty of the trails we walk, I've found that we'll benefit from some decent hiking poles. When folded they take up very little space at 14 inches and 21 ounces for both weights is perfectly acceptable. Multi-terrain plug-in ends add a bit of weight and space if you want to carry them all. We only take the essentials for this hike and leave the rest in the car. I tried to load them, simulating a false step, pushing and leaning against them at an angle. They don't bend and I feel completely safe in them. Adjusting the height is very easy. I have to admit that I didn't start by reading the instructions that came with it, but obviously started ranting and complaining about the faulty product. I was told by the person who read those instructions that I should have had 4 partitions. After I pulled out the entire partition, everything worked. Too bad I thought I knew all that.
