It's been 2 months, still works.

Finally killed his fan, bought a PS3 before launch. I cleaned it, replaced the fan, re-glued the radiator, and done. I used Article Silver 5 to clean and connect, although I'm not an expert. You can just use isopropyl alcohol and the paste that this company offers. I had to place standoffs on the heatsink support rod, tighten and then loosen until the PS3 boots up. Runs pretty quiet and hasn't had any problems since.
