Review on Brother ScanNCut Fabric Applique Contact by Heather Shaw

What a nightmare! I ordered this for my new ScanNCut 2 and while I happily waited I used Wonder Under in my stash to prepare the applications. I haven't had any issues with Wonder Under, so I've been using it for ages (long before Brother came out with ScanNCut). When the Brother ScanNCut Iron-On Applique Backing Sheet arrived, I eagerly tried it and immediately regretted it. Before using it, I carefully watched Brother's instructional video and another one I found on You Tube. and of course read the instructions that came with the product. Even so, the sheet didn't stick to my jeans. I set the iron up correctly, press the fabric for the required 20 seconds. Didn't stick. So I did it again and held the iron on the fabric for about a minute. Still didn't stick. So I thought maybe I didn't put the shiny side on the wrong side of the fabric as directed, so I turned the sheet over. BAD MOVE! The glue melted and stuck to my iron! AAAAAAA! Well, my dear friends Revane, I haven't given up. I scrubbed my iron as clean as I could and my husband scraped some more with his brute force, even roughing up the underside of the iron with sandpaper and managing to remove most of the glue. I'm so stupid. I tried again. STILL did not prevail. At that point, I logged into my Revain account, found the order, filled out the online returns form, printed the returns slip and UPS label, and sped to the nearest UPS pickup location. Back home, I pulled out my long-loved and trusted Wonder Under, had the sheet glued to the fabric nice and neat, and got on with my project. The bad news is we haven't completely removed the glue from my poor iron yet, so I'll have to buy a new one tomorrow. Seems the product has been around for a while and I probably got a bad batch, but I won't risk it with new hardware.
