I recently upgraded my aquarium and needed some light. The previous light stuck to the lid, but the new lids are just glass. I decided to try this. It was packaged very well so it was not damaged in transit. This is the perfect length for my 75 gallon tank, but unfortunately the small parts that need to stick to the rim of the tank are too small for anything with a frame. Not sure if it was designed for small tanks and forgot to adjust for longer sizes or if it's just for rimless tanks. I was very disappointed with this because it only slides on top. You can only choose white or blue settings. It doesn't have full RGB that you can adjust to different colors, but it's as advertised. I like that it's low and barely visible from the top of the tank. And the light is directed downwards at such an angle that it doesn't come out on the side where you can see it in the space around them. The white setting makes my fish colors very bright and especially red. I'm not sure if it's light or food, but since adding this I feel like my damn stuff is more orange where it wasn't orange before. You can dim the light gradually by pressing the button or continuously by holding it down. I set it to the lowest setting as it appears pretty bright and I'm already having issues with algae growth. I didn't use the timer option at all because I have a timer on my fork where I can set it to exactly the 15 minute increments I want, but it seemed to work fine for me. It would be nice if the timer was set on a shorter cycle as I rarely leave the lights on for more than 3-4 hours at a time due to natural sunlight entering the room. One thing that is confusing is that the timer has a maximum of 12 hours, which is why I think some other reviewers thought it would cycle through every 12 hours. However, this is a 24-hour cycle. It can simply stay on for up to 12 hours and then turn off for 12 hours before turning back on. If you turn it on at 6:00 for 12:00 with a timer, it will turn off at 18:00 and turn on again at 6:00 the next day. What I liked about the timer is that it turns on or off gradually, more like a sunrise/sunset, which my timer doesn't do. Overall this is a good light for the price. I definitely wish it had more features like RGB and maybe even a less vibrant option than the lowest setting, but it works pretty well and I'll keep using it. If you have a fairly basic tank with no plants or high demand fish, this light should be for you.
