I don't drink coffee. I don't even have a coffee maker. So why the hell would I buy coffee filters?!? I use them for gardening. Yes, 1. Coffee filters prevent soil from spilling out of my pots with drainage holes. Not everything fits, but my window sills are much cleaner.2. For use in my inverted tomato pots. Often when I have to plant them in containers, the roots of my plants are too small and they fall through. I have learned to make cuts in 2-3 layers of coffee filters to accommodate the stem(s) leaving the roots on top of the filters. The filters prevent the roots from falling out because there is soil around them. Good, because the filters also hold the soil until the plants grow. Filters break down over time, so no waste.3. This year I laid out the collected seeds in filters. The filters are strong enough to withstand wet seeds and are nice and thin to be folded and labeled or slipped into these seed envelopes when the seeds are dry enough. These are good filters and I'm sure coffee lovers will appreciate them as much as my plants.
