Love it! I didn't think they would work on my standard 75 gallon tank so never got them, but then I took a look at the specs and noticed that the spacing in the tubes was more than the rim. I only needed about 1 inch and it came off easily. In this case, suction cups can be easily attached. Although the suction is not too strong, you will have to use moisture or not use it at all. I don't think they're necessary, but they're a nice addition. Both tubes are the same size, which is fine, although some canister filters have different size inlet and outlet tubes. I use a professional HYDOR canister with 5/8" and 3/4" lines, but I was able to fit the hose over the 5/8" pipes with no problem. I just had to use hot water to pull the smaller hose. The glass tube is very strong so I wasn't worried about it breaking when inserting the filter, but the trade-off is cleaning the inlet of plants daily if you have this in a planted tank. Big thing. I really like it and am glad it comes with a very long flexible tube brush so I can keep dirt off the lines. I recommend this to everyone, and especially as an affordable alternative to plain lily tubes.
