after reading reviews that said the controller had more range than it should and that I needed more fans for my aquarium i bought a pair of these, they are comparable to my old icecaps, cheaper and were in stock. Since they are 12V DC I have a feeling (but I could be wrong) that they are safer around water than fans that simply plug into an outlet. I also have a splitter and 2 extenders before testing the fans and finding I could, as I hoped, run both from the same controller. At 3/4 they are about as loud and have the same airflow as the Icecaps. at full speed they are heard over the sound of the tank and its pumps and get more air. without them I lowered the temp to about 80, added with them, and at 3/4 I see a maximum of 78. Given the room temperature and with 2 250 watt metal halide in the tank, I'm very happy.
