This variable speed fan has held up well since I've used it almost continuously in my mushroom tent. I am very impressed and happy so far.

My Nvidia Xp generates a lot of heat when I'm running my flight sim to the fullest, and since my computer is on a test bench, I need an external cooling source. I knew that some noise was to be expected at maximum throttle, but with the flight simulator running the motor noise drowns out the fan noise.

I use this with my vertical Mac Mini mount to cool my Mac. I monitor CPU temperatures through the CleanMyMac app and use time spikes on intensive applications. This fan allows me to keep temperatures below 130F in a 70F room. When the fan is running at high power it is noisy, but most of the time I keep it at 1/3 to 1/2 and the noise level is negligible.

I had a moldy closet that happened to have an abandoned HVAC chamber in the wall and was next to a 115v outlet. Installed the fan inside the cabinet using the provided grille to protect it. He went through the plenum into the next room. Adjusted fan speed to make howling almost inaudible. No more musty in the closet!

This fan offers a wide speed variation. The form factor is perfect for my application. The only thing that bothered me was that there was no indication that the grille to protect against falling into the fan has a specific top and bottom and will only work if installed correctly. Since there are no instructions for this, you have a 50/50 chance that it will install correctly. Otherwise it's just what I need and good value for money.

I use this product to grow shiitake mushrooms and lion's mane in a monotube. One serves to ensure a lot of air exchange and the other I use to regulate the temperature. The ability to control fan speed with a speed controller is a blessing. This has allowed me to achieve the exact air exchange I need to get a big harvest every time I start flushing the grow blocks. I bought this fan for a WhisperRoom (music booth) that I use for recording. I need a fan that circulates air so it doesn't get too hot inside and is quiet enough not to disturb the recording. after reading reviews that said the controller had more range than it should and that I needed more fans for my aquarium i bought a pair of these, they are comparable to my old icecaps, cheaper and were in stock. Since they are 12V DC I have a feeling (but I could be wrong) that they are safer around water than fans that simply plug into an outlet.
