I use this product (I bought two) to mount my phone and water bottle on the monopod. When I'm shooting I have to keep one hand on the monopod and the other on the camera, so having this mount to hold other things helps. My Moto Play phone. Not a big phone, but not small either. Holds cell phone very securely. There are two large grooves in the mount and the sides of the phone fit snugly in the grooves. The holder holds a water bottle or jar relatively securely, but compresses the bottle/jar. For a drink, it is better to use a rigid plastic bottle that will not break under the pressure of the attachment. I believe the product came with a large protective rubber strap for your phone but I can't figure out how to use it and honestly I don't need it.
