These very small headlights give a nice, soft but bright wide angle light from the light source. The most striking thing about them is that the automatic operation is excellent. Most "automatic" night lights seem to stay on unless the room is very bright. They claim to adjust the light intensity based on the ambient light. The best thing about this automatic operation is that these lights will turn off unless there is not enough light to see. I know it sounds contradictory to say that the light emitted is soft and bright, but it fits. The light is warm but intense enough to show the area underneath. I bought a pack of six lamps and was a bit surprised at the lack of instructions. Yes, it's a night light, so why do you need it? As it turned out, there was an eight-page manual at the bottom of the box, which I didn't see until I started unpacking the light. The most important thing I learned is not to install the device upside down. No reason given. I assume the light can be quite intense to look at directly. These are VERY effective night lights.
