This We liked boots but wish they had lasted longer. As you can see in the photo, the sole of one boot started to come off. The synthetic leather material on the toe box chipped and flaked for months. However, they were good boots as long as they lasted. We live on a farm in a mid-latitude state and my kids spend a lot of time outside. . I wanted something warmer and more waterproof than tennis shoes, but more comfortable walking than rubber boots or heavy snow boots. They seemed like the perfect combination. And they were while they lasted. We received these boots in early November and now in mid-February they are falling apart. I wish they would have lasted another month but considering how difficult my 9 year old son is with shoes, especially in the cold and wet winter, they have held up quite well. The "waterproof" factor has never been very impressive. My son's feet stayed dry in heavy dew or freeze and midfoot moisture, but his feet got wet when he stepped in the water at or above the lace line. Better than tennis shoes again. They were (and stay dry) pleasantly warm, comfortable shoes. And my son liked that he didn't have to tie her up as he rushed outside. Depending on the price I would probably consider buying them again as they have definitely been well used and abused. Conclusion: It's a good shoe, but it's not
