I have just received this item. I tried, adjusted and tested it in my Scorpion EXO-500 helmet. Positive: The materials feel comfortable, but the display inside the device seems to be slightly warped. I've seen this in other BT articles from another group. Annoying, but it doesn't affect performance. The unit's mounting clip installs quickly and neatly to my helmet with a screw/clip. I assumed I would prefer the sticker but the clip worked fine. The speakers have good sound quality, the unit doesn't have the bass you'd find in a dedicated MP3 audio unit or even a few phones I've used, but the highs and mids are strong. I wanted the device to be loud enough to be used with foam ear tips. I was surprised how much sound I could still hear with them. The key is finding the right speaker placement in the helmet. If your earbud is the right shape, the hook and loop on the back of the speakers may be enough to place and hold them. With the jacks at highway speeds I REALLY couldn't hear much bass, but I was able to understand speech and lyrics - which is fine as being able to hear speech is what I'm most interested in. FM radio which I found useless but so far I'm really enjoying this feature. The Bad: Unfortunately, the language I couldn't understand at high speed was a phone call. Although my phone may not be fully on. This of course depends on the network, bike setup, wind, speed, etc. It would be helpful if there was a command for the device to announce the frequency of the tuned station. RDS information would be really good. It's great to see that FreeConn offers an adapter to use your own headphones. Koss makes PLUG headphones that go well with this - a memory foam cushion that offers good sound isolation and impressive bass. Plug-ins offer worse sound quality but better sound isolation - which is a good choice for long trips. Sena, considered more expensive, offers such an item for some of its devices. NO VOICE ACTIVATION/ENTER KEY is SIMPLY my biggest disappointment with the device. I can initiate voice commands with a cheap $5 earbud, but this device can't. This was one of my main goals when buying a BT device - so I can call/listen to TM/play music/podcasts without using the phone. This feature is more important to me than intercom or FM radio and I just assumed I would get it. EVERY other speakerphone I've ever had, wired or BT, has allowed me to use the phone's voice command capabilities. Without it I find the device too expensive for what it is. I REALLY wish this was added. These are first impressions. I'll probably test the device on a car trip this weekend to see how the battery life holds up.
