My cat will NOT touch this with her paws. She doesn't like the texture a bit. However, being a solid sheet of plastic, it has many other practical uses elsewhere in the home. You can cut off a piece to use as a foot scraper in the shower, or a piece to keep outside the house as a cleaning tool to scrape dirt off your shoes. You can use it in places where you don't want your cat to stand. Maybe I have a picky cat, but at least when she's not using it I can find another use for it.
