The monitor has worked well for 7 months and the picture quality was good for my home office work. I am not a gamer and cannot confirm the suitability of the monitor for gaming purposes. This week on Monday there was a thin black line going left to right to write a few inches off the ground. Shortly thereafter, the left side of the monitor stopped working, but most of the monitor continued to show a usable image. While speaking to LG for tech support, I continue to use the monitor. As I was eating lunch, the plastic above the lower left side corner began to bubble and melt, which luckily I noticed before the fire erupted and killed the monitor. It was a really scary experience, never before has any other monitor behaved like this. I have already spoken to LG several times through their support chat, they promised me information on where and how to send the monitor for examination and service, as well as an email. still didn't come. It seems like you have to explain the whole situation over and over again and nothing happens. I am very disappointed with the way the support team is handling my case. I'll provide an update here once I've gone through this process. Here's an update: I got a replacement from LG, the new display looks good, fingers crossed that it works well and doesn't burn my house.
