Purina Veterinary The drug is overrated: my truthful feedback

In January, a misfortune happened in our house - our beloved fluffy beauty fell ill. I will not go into the details of the disease, because it is very difficult, I will only say that we are still being treated. So, since we were prescribed antibiotics, the veterinarian also prescribed the food supplement FortiFlora. ADVERTISEMENT • BETWEEN EXCHANGE The drug is sold either as a whole box at once, or individually. The price of one sachet in pet stores in the city ranges from 45 to 55 rubles. The course of treatment is 1 month. The agent itself is an encapsulated powder, which includes live microorganisms. The method of application is simple: the drug is poured directly onto food. For one day, the cat needs to feed a whole bag. There is minimal information on the back of the package. Everywhere I read about this drug, they write how magical it is, how wonderful it restores the intestinal microflora in cats, contains various vitamins, and that cats themselves eat it with great pleasure. But in practice, everything is completely different. Firstly, even after a month of taking the cat, there were problems with the stool. Secondly, she ate food sprinkled with the drug with much less appetite than food without the drug. It even got to the point that she refused food with a probiotic at all. Perhaps the whole thing is in a very painful condition of the cat, but for us this remedy turned out to be completely useless. One doctor prescribed it to us, but after a month and a half she transferred our cat to another, more experienced doctor. So, our current veterinarian called FortiFlora a glamorous and advertised drug and transferred us to human Biovestin, which turned out to be more effective. I will still recommend the FortiFlora probiotic for cats, but its properties should not be exaggerated.
