I have three fairly new, light 20-inch monitors. Each weighs less than 10 pounds. While they're fairly sturdy, as other reviews have noted, there's some play on either end. The center is perfectly straight and even (yes I checked with the actual level). Both the left and right monitors are flush with the center monitor and splay left and right a bit, requiring you to tilt your head to see them. When you align them, there is a fairly noticeable gap between the bottom of the center monitor and the bottom of the two outer monitors. Almost an inch. If you can live with that, then everything is fine. Since the side arms don't adjust up and down individually, there's no way to fix this.
