One of my hobby friends bought one and boasted about it. So I decided to take a look since I was in the market for a new antenna. I've read a lot of bad reviews and all of them were related to poor sealing of the joints and moisture ingress. Well, nothing is perfect. And any good radio amateur should know how to use it. When everything is assembled, simply seal the joints with silicone tape or any other water-resistant material you like. I used self-adhesive silicon tape around both joints and around the bottom where the fiberglass rod connects to the base. Just keep the moisture out and you won't have any problems. In terms of performance, I couldn't be happier. It works perfectly and I have better coverage than my previous antenna. This antenna is a half price Comet GP-9 clone. A note to fellow radio amateurs. If you don't bother keeping your antenna (the most important part of your station) working, you should find another hobby. We're radio amateurs, that's what we do. We take the imperfect and make it work. And make sure it works properly. I give it four stars for ease of assembly. because of poor seam sealing. Enjoy!
