Review on πŸͺž KOHLER Verdera Collection Lighted Medicine Cabinet with Mirror - 20" x 30" - K-99003-TLC-NA by Jonathan Arroyo

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent for the reduced price I paid. Not much for MSRP

I had a few requirements: 1. There is no frame on the mirror2. Rectangular3. Mirror inside.4. A door that swings left or right. That is, without separation in the middle.5. Soft close6. Ease of installation. You can install by yourself. My pre-purchase research narrowed the choices down to one option. Unfortunately, the price was not at or close to the manufacturer's suggested retail price. So I waited and bought a model without a built in closer from the Revain store and saved over 60%. I then installed "Blum BLUMOTION 971A for Compact Hinges" and it works just as well as a built-in closer (I tried it at the Kohler flagship store). It requires a 90 degree drill. Incidentally, the Kohler website sells soft-close hinges as "spare parts", but for over $50, and this requires removing the existing hinges. (Not possible as the hinges were installed with self tapping screws and installing new ones will affect ability to hold heavy mirrored doors.) As for installation, Verdera is the only place you can HANG a mirror once installed. Installation of a metal bar on the wall. It stays in place leaving your hands free to install the remaining screws so it can't be removed. All other mirrors I've seen require you to hold the mirror on the ledge underneath. With your shoulder pressed against the mirror, or with the help of another person, tighten the remaining screws to keep it from leaning forward.
