Like many others, I loved the concept of an almost full SD card that I could leave in my MacBook for extra storage etc. Ok, I LOVE the very low price too! But after a few days I realized there was a quality control issue - and I suspect that's why it just doesn't work on some browsers, some doesn't get recognized by their computer, some crashes. except -- and for me it was completely unreliable with my data. I bought this with a 32GB SanDisk card to try. We have several Mac laptops in our family, so I tried this adapter and a 32GB SanDisk Micro card on all four: an early 2011 MacBook Pro, a 2012 MacBook Pro, a 2012 MacBook Air, and a 2014 MacBook Air recognized the card and 32GB drive when I inserted it. Yes! Reformatted the SD disk to FAT32 (I also have Windows on Buka). Everything seemed to be going well. So I left the card and adapter in my early 2011 MacBook Pro to try out over time. From the 2nd day I had problems. When I restarted or hibernated the book (I have a main SSD) I started getting reports that the SD drive "won't eject properly" - even though I didn't remove it at all! ). I rebooted and SanDisk popped up again. Checked with Disk Utility, all good. Then - and this is totally unacceptable - my SD drive formatting got corrupted! It disappeared from my desktop and I couldn't mount it again with Disk First Aid. So I tried taking the drive/card out and putting it in the SD card holder that came with the SanDISk to see if I could access it that way. no I've tried inserting the SD card (with SanDisk holder) into other MacBooks to see if they can access it. Well, that would be too easy, I don't know. (By the way, these MacBooks had several versions of MacOS X - 10.6, 10.9 and 10.14. Everything worked initially. To the point of damage.) In any case, just in case, I reformatted the SD card and lost the files I put on it ( this time I tried the exFAT format; the first time was FAT32). In the morning everything started well again. But later in the day when I woke my book from "hibernation" I got the message again that the card/disk was not ejected properly. (Aaah!) Then I was told that the card/disk was "locked" and I couldn't save to it or change existing files. I removed that card holder, went back to the larger one that came with SanDisk and the 32GB card fitted correctly. I was of course able to access the saved files and save them to disk. So ultimately I couldn't trust this card holder that my SD card would be installed or that it wouldn't mess up its formatting. Simple conclusion - Micro SD card is good. The micro SD card _holde_ is BAD. Hope this helps someone.
