Both of my Great Pyrenees will eat anything so my first thoughts on taste are about the same as with most dog foods. They love dry food and will eat anything I give them. I tried it in a 1:4 ratio with her regular food and taste wise it was a winner for her. They didn't hesitate to eat it with their usual preparation and tried to reach into the bag to get some as a reward. I have larger dogs and it's important that they get a high protein formula. At 33%, this is a very high content and also contains fewer allergenic ingredients. They seem to dig a lot less with this and Purina, especially with the higher protein content and sensitive stomach. It has no wheat, corn or soy and tops the charts at 33% protein. My two adult children loved the composition and I haven't seen it dug that much. Their shedding has gone down drastically and they haven't had such dirty potty rides when they go. This formula seems relatively similar to some of the pancreatitis medications I've tried in the past and overall seems to have the good ingredients that my big boys and girls eat. Of course, these two have little to say about fragrance, but they do have something to say about the strength and quality of the wool. They seem as lively as ever, working and going into the winter. However, the price is a bit high even for a high-protein formula. There are some additional ingredient boosters like coconut oil and turmeric, but I don't know if the amount really helps. I hope this helps make the selection a little easier. It seems easy to digest, dogs love the smell and taste and their coat and hot spots seem much better. They're pretty cranky and seem to fill up well for the winter without getting too bulky. Their coats are on and they make less of a mess when they do.
