My son is 3 years old and most shoes available in this age range still come with supportive straps that require little effort to put on. It sucks when he wants to wear shoes to keep up with his sister. This makes them perfect for quickly slipping on your shoes when going to the yard or garage. I love the adjustable buckles which allow flexibility for foot size at this age range (my son wears "wide" shoes). I would say the overall sizing is pretty close to typical shoe sizing but a bit on the small side. My son wears a size 8 Crocs sandals and I took a size 8-85. They fit well. I might go another size 8.5/9 to have more room to grow. Just for reference if you are used to Asian/European size charts, 8/8.5 is a size 27 here.
