I have three large dogs (none of them are overweight). I tried several sizes before I could find one that fits my two dogs. The fit is slim so I had to find a fairly large size but the jacket is long. This seemed normal for my two females, but not for my male (let's just say I need to wash him and my dog often). One of the females is slightly smaller and has short hair. I had to go up a size than usual because the fit is tight. After running around for a day, I found that the jacket had rubbed the hair on the front of both legs around the holes, leaving two small wounds. Unfortunately I doubt I can return it at the moment. Because the jacket has a zipper at the back, it's likely difficult to put on a naughty dog. They have to use their front legs first and then try to close them.
