I bought it apparently for use as a luggage lock but also for a different but similar reason. In a few months I will study abroad and travel around Europe. Obviously there is a chance you will be ripped off and no matter how hard you try, sometimes life happens. I bought a sling backpack to carry instead of my handbag and travel bag and I wanted to store my more valuable things like my ipad and important documents in it. Even though shoulder bags are generally harder to steal, people could still get behind me and open my bag and steal whatever they wanted. This lock provides the perfect solution to that problem and I don't give a damn that I look more like a tourist. It tells them I'm not an easy target. It can lock two zippers in the large tote bag as well as one zipper in the middle pocket, effectively giving me two secure pockets for belongings. The photo shows that this can easily be done with a flexible cable. The cable itself appears to be very strong and would be difficult for any pickpocket to cut. You'll need a good pair of wire cutters to cut it through, although I'm not exactly sure how difficult that would be because I'm not going to attempt to cut through this lock. However, I suppose it will take some effort during which I realize someone is fumbling with my bag. As for the castle itself, it appears to be well built and strong. It doesn't feel cheap or flimsy. It's a good size and looks very chic too. Not very important but adds a nice touch. It's small, but not too small. I've added some photos to show what it looks like open and closed, plus a size comparison with a marker. I would definitely recommend this lock to anyone using it as a luggage lock, backpack lock or any other type of lock. I will be using it for my checked baggage on my flight to Europe so hopefully the TSA won't just cut it off as the TSA symbol is hard to miss and is on either side of the lock.
