The steel reinforcement plates for the monitor mount are nicely powder coated and wider than I need for my monitor stand. The panels include a set of foam pads with adhesive for extra protection of the table tops. They offer additional clamping space for monitors of all sizes. I can install the monitor stand post and attach before tightening. Centering the monitor stand pole leaves at least 2 inches on each side of the plate. The bottom rectangular plate is 6 inches wide to accommodate large bottom clamp plates for some monitor stands. The base plate of my monitor stand is a narrow rectangular plate with rounded corners that screws into place easily. My monitor stand is now securely fixed and my expensive desk hasn't suffered in any way thanks to this reinforcement plate.
