Freeze alarms are only as good as reliable. If it doesn't work when you need it, that's worse than nothing because you can count on it to do its job and let you know if there's a problem. I only had it 5 months. I noticed that the signal from one of the sensors was becoming intermittent. It was in a large freezer so I put it in a small freezer and hoped for the best. Instead I got the worst. I'm not sure when the sensor stopped working but today I found that my small freezer had been defrosted. It seems that when my wife took something out of it, something prevented the door from closing completely. After 2 days in a hot Florida garage most of the stuff is ruined. Of course, I had no warning because that freezer alarm decided now was the right time to stop work. Better no alarm than one you can't rely on.
