I was looking for a shoe to slip on. They are well made and the padding inside is just a dream. I had no issues with hot spots and love the soft heel. I didn't have to tune the bungee at all. I have blue ones and I like the way they look. You are cozy. You can wear socks with it, but it is not necessary. I have low arches so the arch support is perfect. If you have high arches, they may not suit you. Being snug fitting, these shoes may not be for you if the top of your foot is sensitive. I wore them without socks the first day and they worked great. I opted for socks on the second day and stretched a little (quite a lot). I have found that they want to pull the sock snugly over my toes so I will probably never wear socks with them again. The sock is very comfortable. Those who have never worn Ryka will understand that they are made specifically for women. They may take some getting used to because they force the foot into a healthier position than traditional tennis shoes designed for men's feet. Don't be surprised if you feel a slight pain in your legs because the muscles work differently. I will probably buy another pair of these shoes because they are easy to put on and great for walking around the house or outdoors. Highly recommended.
