Review on MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD 2560X1440 Monitor πŸ–₯️ with Adjustable Stand, 165Hz, High Dynamic Range by John Kane

Not perfect, but still very nice

I am happy with them. Cons: As others have said, the worst thing about this monitor is the color calibration. I don't know why these manufacturers assume that the average consumer is walking around with a calibrator that doesn't have to be perfect (most expensive TVs have many options to get close enough to the actual calibration, for example), colors don't even remotely match sRGB or P3. The software now comes with sRGB and P3 modes, and they seem to be getting a little closer. The HDR mode is questionable in my opinion, colors are overly saturated, black levels are not good for cinema and it can be confusing when trying to use the monitor/GPU/renderer for gaming, general use and movies to optimize in general. On the plus side, you're not buying this monitor to prioritize watching movies. The variable refresh rate (g-sync or freesync, in my case g-sync) was a game changer for me. Motion is crisp with no tearing or ghosting, and the 2560 x 1440 resolution is a good compromise between 1080 for lag and lag and 4k for images. With a display port, you get 120Hz 10-bit, 444 (rbg) at full resolution. However, in detail, the Displayport is listed as version 1.3, which is not the case. It's a 1.2, I don't regret my decision to buy it.
