Battery compartment screw hole cleaned

We just opened it for my son's 4th birthday. I bought him early and the return window closed before his birthday. This is very unfortunate as the battery case was broken and the lid was not screwed/tightened as the hole was polished out. Not a safe toy for my kids with exposed batteries. And now we can't even return it even though we bought it for twice the retail price. Buyer Warning.
