Review on 🌞 KYOKYO Portable Solar Panel 60W - Efficient Solar Panel Kit for Camping, Hiking, RV & More by Carnell Bollwitt

Revainrating 5 out of 5

My first solar panel and it did not disappoint.

I've been waiting for a while looking for a good solar panel to try and use when I'm offline or when there are power outages. So I decided to pull the trigger because of the portability feature and the power it generates, as well as the various accessories or power connections. This is my first solar panel and I am very excited. It arrived late last night and I couldn't wait to try it out so I hooked it up to my shutters about a foot from the window to see if I got power. The weather was a bit cloudy with some showers so I wasn't expecting too much of it to begin with. But once I hung the panel with the included D-rings, I opened the velcro pocket on the back where all the charging ports and accessories are, to my surprise a bright red light came on. It was around 6:30pm, overcast, a foot outside the window and also the windshield. To me, this shows how sensitive and how well these solar panels capture daylight, even on a cloudy, rainy evening. So I hooked up my volt multimeters and took some readings as shown in the attached pictures. I was able to get about 9.25v from the aviator jack and just over 5v from one of the USB 3.0 ports. I believe these two USB ports share or distribute power based on the devices connected to them. With just the voltmeter it showed 5V but as soon as I plugged in the backup power supply to charge from a different USB port it immediately took all the current from the voltmeter as the meter required no power and no reading. almost immediately back to 0 as shown. By the way, this 15000 mAh power bank was about 75% charged, which is indicated by the 3 blue LEDs, and under the conditions described above, it took just over 35 minutes to fully charge it to 100%. Imagine if it was outdoors in direct sunlight at midday when the sun was at its peak, it would charge that external battery much faster. But it already sold me and was good enough that I could see how it works even in low sunlight :). It goes without saying that I am really very impressed with my first solar panel and am glad I got it as it did everything I hoped it would and will more than meet my requirements. Not too heavy to carry around and not too big to pack in your backpack when camping or traveling. It weighs about 5 pounds and is a little larger than my 13-inch laptop when folded. The rear stands are also very useful when there is no hanging space with the 4 D-rings. Very easy to fold and unfold, Velcro straps are very strong, PVC fabric is very durable and also absorbs water well All cables with different size DC adapters easily store in the Velcro back pocket and also for easy access, there is no need to take extra cables with you. Compact with a strong and durable carrying handle and well-made solar panels. I will take very good care of it, being careful not to scratch the modules, although cleaning is very important. Can't wait to show this to all my relatives and friends on my next trip to nature :).
