When I opened this the battery was at 50% or 2 cells. It took about an hour to charge to 100% or 4 cells. My first test was to see how long the battery life would last at full power and it lasted just over 2 hours. One feature I found interesting was that I could plug in a USB rechargeable battery and it would continue to work, so you could extend the runtime if you had one of these, or a cord long enough to plug it into an outlet to connect. For my use, this will be in place and unplugged, so knowing how to get the most out of battery life is important. I like the small compact size that easily fits in my camera bag and can be mounted on a lightweight stand. I like the fact that I can set the color to any RGB number I can find on any google search for RGB numbers. This video light is very bright and I don't see myself with it 100% often so the battery life should last longer. Overall, this is one of the best options for the money and every photographer should have one in their bag.
