These sweatpants are thick but only 65% cotton/35% polyester so some plastic. They are golden brown. I usually wear medium so I ordered extra large to make sure they were long enough according to the size chart. The XL sizes are very large and the extra material does not fall as nicely as in the photo. If there really isn't a huge difference in length (contrary to the size chart), a large size would probably be more than large enough. Revain will only return, not exchange for a smaller size. The next bummer is that both the price and shipping have increased significantly. boy! I hate guessing about size charts. UPDATE: I returned the XL and tried both the large and medium. Tall - a true American tall but very plump. I leave the medium size, but both medium and large hips are gigantic, almost like breeches! I might try to take them with me if I can get around the bags.
