I was looking for a small box for my most used tools. Most of the options I saw were plastic and had simple plastic clasps. I wondered how strong/reliable they would be if filled with heavy tools. Then this Trusco tool box caught my eye. It was the only metal, and although it was about twice the price, it also had a strong metal clasp. I've seen a few reviews saying it's made in Japan, but since Revain is unreliable on that kind of information, I figured it would be a bonus if that's really the case. It arrived today and exceeded all my expectations. This is a very well made tool box. The steel feels solid and thick, and the hinges and clasps work smoothly. I didn't bother reloading the box and it turns out it was actually made in Japan. Overall it reminds me of the kind of tool box you find in your grandparents workshop - simply made but well done, with pride. and quality. The blue finish even gives it a retro look and feel. Everything indicates that I will have this tool kit for a long time.
