Review on Soldering Tip Chisel 3 2Mm 22 5Mm by Joseph Whiteman

This tip fits 4 or 5 different brands of irons that have just been rebranded. Hakko, Radio Shack Pro Series 70W, for which RS does not list tips or available parts. Unfortunately I can't remember all the others, but I'll try to update them when I find my notes. This ferrule makes working with the heatsink easier, soldering the 1/0 wire to the board and removing transformers in seconds at only 650-680 degrees. This prevents the tin from burning out of the solder and ensures good flow. Temperatures above 780°C will shorten tip life, but good care, cleaning and re-tinning can easily remedy this if caught soon. I used this tip for several days at 950 degrees for high temp lead free solder. It just takes a lot of tinning and tip tipping.
