I bought the size Large for our 17 lb poodle who has a larger chest, longer body and thinner neck. His chest is 20.5 inches so the jacket is snug but not tight and overall it fits great! It's a bit short on the back (our poodle is 16.5 inches from neck to tail), but that's okay as the chassis tidies up nicely. Bathroom for our dog. I spent 4 hours on Revain trying to find the "right fit" for our poodle and decided that "fit" was more important than "easy to put on". I'm glad I went this route. I was concerned about how easy it was for our 13 year old poodle to put on his first jacket as the reviews didn't mention if it was 'easy' to put on. I would say the first 2-3 days were a bit of a challenge - our poodle was scared of 4 clicks making a loud clicking noise; and this owner took a few tries to figure out the "best way" to put the jacket on, but by day three we had our rhythm and now Murphy stands still and trembles with excitement as I don his jacket expectantly. his 3 daily walks. For me, the easiest way to put the jacket on is to get on both knees, turn Murphy around to face me, slide his front legs through the holes, and then flick down. For the first 2-3 days I had to squeeze it between my knees to keep it from jerking as I clicked the clasps. It doesn't really matter now. I use a regular leash and don't use the slit in the jacket. We also pulled the collar up for added protection in our north west weather - collar and leash don't interfere with each other. The jacket wears well - I haven't washed it yet as dirt just rubs off - but once I do I'll probably use a waterproofing spray on the outside to get this fabric feature working well. . In addition to the functionality, the jacket also looks good! Murphy always gets "Look at that cute puppy!" commented when we walk in his new jacket, making this 13-year-old pup's step a little brighter with attention.
