This hardware kit is still draining the battery and there is nothing you can do about it. I'm using this on a 2014 Tundra that has a fairly beefy battery and alternator with a factory tow package. The first problem is that unless both ACC and VCC are connected, it will not supply any current at all. On my BlackVue I could leave VCC disabled as I didn't care about parking mode. Instead, ddpai relies on software. But the software has obvious flaws. The first and biggest is that there is no way to disable parking mode, which means the device will always consume power until the disable conditions are met. It has a voltage release and a time release. But using the most conservative settings for both still makes my truck extremely difficult to start, to the point where I'm surprised when it finally starts. As the truck is 6 years old I tried a new battery but the dash cam results in the same work run the next day. I'll try to keep the dash cam and instead use one of the power splitters available from Revain that use the power provided by the rear camera instead of this harness.
