The keys came with chips in bags as shown in the picture. So make sure you put the chips in the chip slot inside the fob so the key can be programmed and don't accidentally throw them away. There is a chip slot inside the key fob. You can open the keychain with a flat object like a butter knife. I had to take my 2009 Toyota Camry to a Toyota dealership to get it programmed as the other shops (hardware stores/internet programming) were down. Having a locksmith cut them saved me at least $100 compared to what Toyota was charging. The key is called a "transponder key" and had to be programmed to start the engine in my particular car, but once programmed they work great.
