First of all, I should seriously consider buying a laptop in this price range. I am currently a student so I was looking for something compact and portable that could be placed on a small table and transported around campus. I'll admit I'm rather spoiled as 2.8k is a huge amount for many. I've used a MacBook before, so build quality and looks were important factors for me. I was a bit disappointed with this product as the opportunity cost is very high at this price point. Despite really great gaming performance and a flawless 240Hz screen that ensures a unique first-person shooter gaming experience, it's the little things that annoy you in the long run. The screen doesn't fully adhere to the case, leaving a gap of about half a millimeter, which allows dust to cling to the screen and keyboard even with the lid closed. The thermal issues were also very obvious to me. I know that many tech reviewers have actually implied that this is one of the best cooling laptops out there, but I have to say if this is the right kind of cooling, I have a hard time imagining what others would look like. After 10 minutes of Word input, the thing got noticeably warm. The areas around the trackpad and keyboard felt hot -- something unusual for a former Mac user. Of course, during intense gaming sessions, regardless of cooling, the laptop gets very hot these days, and I bought this device fully aware of that fact and preparing for the consequences. However, I feel that with a very powerful processor, Razer hasn't achieved the sensible balance between performance and everyday usability that the average consumer like me wants to see in a high-end laptop. Basically, you don't get the best of both worlds. I would advise you to consider buying a full desktop computer (maybe a miniature computer if you are looking for compact solutions like me) or getting a more comfortable laptop.
