Review on Evoluent VMDLW VerticalMouse Ergonomic Connection by Tim York

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Pain in the wrists or elbows is eliminated. Better than VM4

For years I've used a wired mouse with weights that you could add or remove to adjust sensitivity. It was good, but too heavy and inaccurate. I then upgraded to the wireless Logitech MX Master 2, which was excellent in every way but ergonomically terrible. The muscles on the outside of the elbow began to ache. I knew I needed a new mouse. First, I settled on the Logitech MX model. However, upon further research, I found that Logitech's bracket angle is 57 degrees instead of 90 degrees. The key to pain relief was to keep the hand in a natural handshake position with the thumb up when using the mouse. and little finger down. The only mouse that does this was the Evoluent brand. They have several models but their most popular seems to be VM4. Their latest model I'm reviewing is the VMD. They also have a "C" version. All models are small, medium and large. Average hands are said to be less than 7.8 inches from the tip of the middle finger to the crease at the wrist. On your website. They have a template that you can print out to fit your hand. My arm was 7.75 inches. I started with a medium sized VM4R wired model and used it for a few days. The pain subsided immediately and almost completely disappeared. This mouse really works for those in pain. I also ordered their latest plus-size variant, the VMDLW. This model was wireless. I ordered a large because at 7.75 I was on the border between M and L and wanted to compare it to the average VM4. Upright mice need some time to acclimate. You'll be disappointed at first, but you'll quickly get used to how it feels. Accuracy is the hardest thing to master, but it's coming. The Evoluent software can customize each mouse button, but I kept mine simple. 4, while D was: D had better build quality; Wireless was less cluttered and allowed more precise mouse movements; There were cutouts at the tips of the buttons to keep fingers in place. and the scroll wheel was smoother. I'm glad I chose the D version and the plus size. It helps me hold my mouse better. All in all the Evoluent has a really good, high quality and ergonomic mouse that has worked for me. Update: comments about the "shiny" finish in some of the reviews I've read. That's right, this mouse is not rubberized. However, I don't have any control issues and my hand doesn't sweat at all. If you sweat a lot, you might not like the shiny feeling. UPDATE - October 17, 2020 Still give this mouse 5 stars. Love it. NO WRIST PAIN. The glossy finish is not a problem at all. Still with the original battery and I use it 50 hours a week.
