I bought this strap to wear with my Osprey Porter 30 backpack The one that Osprey sells is only available in dark green which looked awful against my taupe backpack. I found this one and it looks great. The strap itself is well made and I like the hardware used. The buckles push inward to connect to the bag's ring, making it less likely to let go or snag on things. The fabric of the strap is of good quality and the embroidery is done well enough that there aren't likely to be any sagging or stretching issues. The padding is quite heavy but flexible and has a fairly soft feel so should be fairly comfortable. The strap is not padded but fits me as it is not my main backpack carry strap. But I plan to use it for some tote-style wallets as well, and I'm sure it won't be impractical. He will be traveling with me in July, I will update the information to report how he experiences the abuse of planes, trains and cars.
