I ordered several rolls in three colors. I can't see any wax at all on either of the white rolls. The black is almost too stiff to be knotted; This wax is heavy. Purple - yes, just right. After all, as a craftsman, I find a use for almost everything. What I can't do is develop a product, plan how to use it, place an order and then not get what I expected. I don't know what to expect from this product so honestly I can't order it again. If you want woven cotton thread (no, it doesn't melt) and don't care how much wax it contains, then go for it. This is a great cotton cord.
