Bought this set for my two-year-old son. He's already pretty good with a fork, but he needs practice with a spoon and has never used a knife. The handles on these items are easy to grip and fit well for his hand size. They are suitable for a child who is a few years older. The fork has the perfect point to pierce and hold food, but it's not so sharp that I don't have to worry about my son getting hurt. It also enlarged one of the slots for a knife, but my son hasn't figured it out yet. The spoon could be a little deeper, but it works well for most things he uses it for. These are usually thicker foods like yogurt or mashed potatoes. A good learning knife, this knife can easily cut softer foods. I tested this and it's very easy to cut steamed vegetables and foods with such softness. I was able to carve the chicken myself but I didn't expect my son to be able to. This is not good for a child who can already cut hard foods as it is not sharp. I usually cut his food and I don't mind him eating, so I don't have to worry if he doesn't cut it. Then I show him that he can cut and he tries with some success. If you are looking for a set to teach your child how to cut, this is a good set. If you are looking for a spoon that can be used for soups or thin liquids I would look elsewhere. One star deducted for packaging. The holes in the bottom of the packaging where the handles protrude are too small to hold the product well. When I first received the set all the utensils were missing but the packaging was not damaged or opened in any way. I also see a lot of feedback that they are missing a knife. Although the problem was solved for me quickly. I hope they fix the packaging in the future. Overall I would recommend this set. Edit: I see a lot of negative feedback about not getting the expected color. This item is available in multiple colors and if you order through this site you will not be able to choose a color. However, the price is cheaper than other places where you can choose the color you want.
