Review on πŸ“· REOLINK 8CH 5MP Home Security Camera System: High-Quality Wired IP Cameras and 8MP NVR with 2TB HDD for 24-7 recording, RLK8-520B2D2 by Antonio Bacon

Basic camera + NVR combo. Adding existing cameras is problematic.

Security system works great with cameras powered on. However, the NVR, which is also available separately, does not meet the standards. The cameras are standard PoE surveillance cameras. Image quality is average both during the day and at night. Bright areas of the day become blurred. The range at night is limited. No tricky features like color night vision or an ultra-low-light sensor. The biggest feature is that Reolink cameras are generally reliable and the accompanying app is modern and easy to use. Unfortunately, the NVR is pretty bad. The firmware out of the box is outdated. The new firmware v3.0.0 is defective. Many settings cannot be configured through the application or web browser interface. This requires a mouse and a separate monitor. Nowhere is it mentioned that you need a monitor to configure many NVR settings. The NVR also automatically discovers cameras on your local network; which seems to be good. But he's broken. Anything added using the auto-add feature cannot be changed or removed by the user. Worse, every detected camera that doesn't work immediately will cause the NVR to crash every 2 minutes and restart endlessly. There's also no way to diagnose problems or set up cameras manually via the severely dull user interface. You cannot access logs to see what went wrong, and the cameras only work through full or partial automatic detection. The PoE ports are on a separate LAN segment with their own non-configurable subnet. You cannot connect it to the LAN port. This makes reconfiguration of existing cameras potentially problematic. Physically, the NVR is 1.75 inches, so it seems the perfect size for multiple mounting configurations. However, it cannot be rack mounted as there are no mounting holes in the cover. and you can't mount it on the wall because there are no slots at the bottom. The bottom line is that even if you have existing Reolink cameras that you want to connect to this system, these may not work or may not be configured the way you want them to be. This product is really only meant to work as a turnkey solution with everything that comes with it. Judging on these merits alone, you get a decent basic PoE-based video surveillance system for a mid-range price.
